I just got into the Direct program today and honestly this is one thing I’m worried about. I have 100% positive feedback and feel like I condition my cards very accurately, but I’ve heard that TCGplayer has been known to be much more strict than their conditioning guidelines would suggest. For example, if I send in a card with a dot on a back corner, I don’t know if that will be considered near mint (which it is by all standards). And will my LP cards be “LP” for TCGplayer? I have no idea.
I’m probably overthinking it like I do with most things but 98% seems pretty unrealistic when you factor in multiple games, multiple foil types, borderless cards, showcase variants, etc. etc. etc… If it was just condition I don’t think I’d have any issues, but as someone completely new to the program I’m still in the learning phase, so I don’t even really know how the entire process ‘feels’ yet. As usual though, I’m going into it with a positive mindset and I think it’s going to work out okay. But I’d be lying if I said I’m not a liiiiittle uneasy when I see that 98% figure as a goalpost.
